If you’re looking to pursue future opportunities in emergency management, homeland security, or hazard mitigation, the Associate of Science (AS) in Emergency Management can help you prepare. The South College AS Emergency Management program is designed to assist students in establishing the foundations of how to coordinate emergency and disaster response, evaluate preparedness strategies, and identify and monitor risks and opportunities to mitigate hazardous conditions. Your Emergency Management courses will cover the field’s major concepts and theories, the function of local, state, and federal governments and agencies in emergency management, and the impact of disasters on communities. The program will also help you build fundamental communication, technology, management, and critical thinking skills.
