The mission of the School of Computer Science and Engineering is to prepare students to become successful professionals across industries utilizing computers and technology for applied solutions,enhancements, and research into new fields. The programs offered emphasize teaching excellence and application of skills that contribute to student development and lifelong learning. The School seeks to contribute to the technical and engineering professions through industry guidance on outcomes and the application of technological advancements in all programs offered.
This newly formed School includes the following programs: AS/BS Information Technology, AS Electrical Engineering Technology, AS Network Administration and Security, AS/BS Computer Science, BS Cybersecurity, MS Information Technology, and all future programs in technology,computing, and engineering.
The programs in Computer Science and Engineering are designed to provide students with usable, job-based skills in every course. The courses align to the content of competitive certifications whenever possible to provide students with expanded opportunities for employment upon graduation.
These programs fall under ABET accreditation, which cannot be sought until there is at least one graduate for each program for which accreditation will be pursued. These are not part of IACBE. The programs were built to align to the ABET accreditation national standards, but no accreditation is currently held by any of them. The Cybersecurity program was additionally aligned to the NSA standards for academic excellence in addition to the ABET framework.Request Information
