Is the Doctor of Nursing Practice with a Concentration in Nurse Anesthesia Program transitioning to a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program?
**The Nurse Anesthesia Program will offer a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) beginning in 2027, as approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and the Tennessee Board of Nursing. There are no curricular changes associated with this degree title change. Applications for the DNP with a Concentration in Nurse Anesthesia are no longer being accepted, and all future cohorts will be admitted as DNAP-seeking students. Is this an accredited nurse anesthesia program?
The Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program was granted initial accreditation by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) in October 2021 as the Doctor of Nursing Practice with a Concentration in Nurse Anesthesia Program. In 2026, the COA approved both a degree title change and a program name change. The DNAP Program has been approved at South College by SACSCOC, the accreditor for the institution. The DNAP Program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
