Our Bachelor of Science in Health Science (Post-ST) program is one of a limited number of programs nationwide to allow students to apply previously earned surgical technology course credits from an accredited insitution toward a bachelor’s degree, potentially saving you time and expense on your education. Our Health Science (Post-ST) bachelor’s degree program is designed to grow your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Our core curriculum includes biology, chemistry, and the social sciences, while our major courses cover advanced surgical procedures along with numerous topics important in healthcare administration.

Student Learning Outcome #1
The program seeks to provide students with additional coursework to further develop their knowledge and understanding of foundational theories, concepts, and principles.
- Students will demonstrate comprehension of key science principles related to required courses.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of identified basic science course objectives learned in core science courses.
Student Learning Outcome #2
The program seeks to provide theoretical and practical coursework that further develops the critical thinking and analytical skills needed in a competitive and evolving work environment.

Admission Requirements
Applicants interested in the Bachelor of Science in Health Science (Post-ST) program in Orlando are required to meet individually with an admissions representative and program faculty to ascertain if their goals can be met by the college. Prospective students declaring this program as their major must be generally admitted to South College and meet the following requirements in order to be considered for full admission to the program:
- Submit a completed South College Application for admission and be in active student status.
- Provide evidence of completion of AS in Surgical Technology or AAS in Surgical Technology degree from an accredited institution with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
- Satisfactory minimum core courses/credits are required to have been met in the associate degree program. In the case that these requirements were not met, the student is required to complete these requirements.
