Meghan Hosea, Master of Business Administration
Meghan Hosea plans to graduate this June with a degree in the MBA program here at South College. We asked her to share some insights behind her educational experience and what it took to get here.
What program are you in, and why did you choose that program?
I’m in the Master of Business Administration at South College. I chose the MBA program because it offers me several career opportunities within a variety of fields.
Did you come to South College after working, raising a family, etc? Or did you come straight out of high school? Describe that journey.
I came to South College after more than a 10-year break from when I first enrolled in a graduate program back when I was living in South Dakota. During that break, I lived in three countries, got married and had twins.
Why did you choose South College?
I considered dozens of schools with similar online programs, but South College was just so proactive and more helpful than the others. It was stress-free for me to enroll and get started. Also, being a military-friendly institution made it easier for me to use my Post 9/11* GI Bill® benefits with the Yellow Ribbon Program.
What is your favorite part of your studies at South College?
My favorite part is the balance the program offers me with my busy life. I can study anytime and anywhere, which I do often.
What is your goal after you graduate?
I would like to seek out entrepreneurship opportunities. It would be great to run a successful business of my own!
Do you have any advice for future students who might be in your same position?
You have the time right now to earn a degree. Don’t doubt your ability to succeed. Even though you may doubt your ability at times, do not let that defeat you.
I also would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Betsy Sparks for her guidance and encouragement throughout my MBA journey.
