Doctor of Nursing Practice with a Concentration in Nurse Anesthesia
Admissions Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited program
- Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Unencumbered, current RN license in applicant’s state of residence or practice, with the potential need to apply for licensure in the state used for clinical rotations
- Current resume or CV
- Composition of a 500-600-word personal statement addressing career goals
- Current certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS
- Three letters of recommendation: at least two from healthcare professionals; one must be from a critical care supervising nurse or physician; one may be a personal letter of reference or letter from an educator
- One year of critical care (ICU) experience at the time of application to the program
- Two occasions of shadowing a CRNA or an anesthesiologist (one MUST be with a CRNA)
- Submission of practice survey document
If an applicant is selected to go forward after initial admissions application review, there will be an additional requirement for an in-person interview and appropriate health and background screenings.
