Program Requirements
The program is designed to be completed in an online format to provide flexibility and to accommodate the schedules of working professionals. Coursework is offered using interactive instructional software with an emphasis on collaboration and critical thinking. An orientation to the program and institution is conducted online using video capture software. Students are required to complete an online module for orientation at the start of their first quarter of classes.
Students in the MBA program with a Concentration in Marketing must successfully complete the twelve courses for the general MBA and an additional three new courses in Marketing for a total of fifteen courses. South College operates on a quarter system, with each quarter having approximately 10-12 weeks. For each quarter credit hour assigned to a course, students should expect 10 hours of classroom or direct faculty instruction, which may occur in an electronic environment and a minimum of 20 hours of out-of-class student work. Classroom or direct faculty instruction may include but is not limited to, lectures, discussions, forums, chat sessions, blogs, presentations, projects, group interaction, simulations, and other activities. Out-of-class work may include, but is not limited to, study and reflection, completion of assignments, reading and review of assigned materials, completion of necessary research, group meetings for study or project completion, and completion of tutorials or simulations. All 15 courses in this program are four quarter hours each, for a total of 60 quarter hours.
