When preparing for a job interview, there is nothing more nerve-racking than the uncertainty of what you’re going to be asked. But, what if you could get a list of the most common interview questions and how to approach them? Because we care about your success, here is a list of five questions that will help you overcome your insecurities and help prepare you for the position you desire.
“Tell me about the biggest challenge you’ve ever had to face at work.”
By asking you this, the employer is looking for an answer that shows how goal-oriented and results-driven you are. Remember to spend time explaining the challenge but always finish by sharing how you overcame it and were able to achieve your goal.
“What skills would make you an ideal candidate?”
When answering this question, don’t be shy to mention previous experiences and situations where you have put your skills to use. In addition, mention how you would like to further develop these skills and how the desired position could help you. It is a very straightforward question and you must be honest and confident.
“Tell me about your relationship with your coworkers.”
Depending on your answer, you’ll be able to demonstrate how well you interact with others and if you are liked on your team. Avoid giving too many details about friends and make sure to be specific when it comes to team projects, goals and how you learned to overcome challenges with them.
”What’s the biggest decision you had to make in your previous job?”
No matter what your answer is, make sure to focus on how you came to the decision and the results it brought to your team. Talk about how you came up with a plan and whether you consulted with others or trusted yourself.
“Do you have any questions?”
At this point, the interviewer has asked you all the questions and has a pretty good idea of who you are professionally. However, it is important for you to show your interest by asking a couple questions before you leave. Make sure to inquire about the position, training, skills to develop and the future of the company.
