What You’ll Learn
Educational leadership plays a critical role in the development of students at every age. Better programs, academic performance, and quality of experience are improved by having leaders with advanced training. The Educational Specialist – Teacher Leadership in Schools program will help to prepare you for roles in directing practices aimed at improving low performance in schools. As part of your curriculum, you’ll create a research question, conduct a literature review, and submit a research proposal as a tool for exploring evidence-based leadership applications.
At the culmination of the program, students will address their research proposal in addition to other professional development presentations aimed at demonstrating the leadership knowledge and skills you’ve learned each quarter. The program meets state and professional standards, and supports local, regional, and national employment needs.
Coursework also focuses on data coach training that includes understanding of the learning environment and how to analyze the various sources of data. This training established that ability to determine causes and effects from problems evidenced in the data along with the developments of a monitoring plan.
