Specific Characteristics of Nursing Roles

Nurses (such as LPNs, registered nurses, nurse practitioners & DNP doctorally-prepared practitioners) are key members of the healthcare team and mostly a patient's first contact.
The nurse will typically be the first to assess immediate status of the patient, obtain vital signs for the physician and establish a set of key criteria or preparation for the physician so that they have the complete view.

The DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) has an even more specialized focus, working in areas such as anesthesiology and family practice, or even serving at the executive leadership level of a healthcare facility.
