Jill Seale, PT, PhD, NCS earned her Masters in Physical Therapy in 1996 and a PhD in Physical Therapy in 2010. She received Board Certification in the area of Neurologic Physical Therapy from the American Physical Therapy Board of Clinical Specialties in 2004 and recertification in 2014. She has practiced almost exclusively in the field of Brain Injury and Stroke rehabilitation, working primarily in inpatient rehabilitation and home health. She has taught in full time DPT education since 2008, and she also teaches a variety of post-professional education courses. Dr. Seale has conducted research and been published in the areas of orthotic management of gait and balance, recovery of gait following stroke, the utilization of pro bono practice in health professions education, and understanding success in DPT education. Her current research focuses on gait analysis, clinical reasoning related to gait following stroke, orthotic management of gait dysfunction post stroke, and the role and rehabilitation of the plantarflexors in gait recovery post stroke. Dr. Seale is the Director of Curriculum and Associate Professor in the School of Physical Therapy where she teaches in the areas of neuroscience, neuromuscular practice, and aging adult.
