Dr. Darren Hearn defended his PhD dissertation at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in December 2020. He holds a DPT from the University of St. Augustine (2007), an MPH from UNC, Chapel Hill (2016), and a BS from the United States Military Academy, West Point (2002). He is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist and has practiced in a variety of settings with the vast majority of his experience being with outpatient orthopedics and as part of a human performance teams. Dr. Hearn has proudly served the US Army in a variety of positions since 2002, most recently as the deputy director of human performance at Fort Bragg, NC. His academic experience includes teaching classes on the evaluation of the complex patient, evidence based practice, pathological gait, and health promotion. He is passionate about engaging with students and using data integration to improve performance, therapeutic approaches, and education. Dr. Hearn is humbled and excited to serve as an Assistant Professor.
