Cheryl Sparks PT, PhD, DPT, FAAOMPT earned her first professional degree in physical therapy from Bradley University before going on to earn a clinical doctorate (DPT) from St. Ambrose University. She then achieved recognition as a board certified orthopaedic clinical specialist and completed an advanced fellowship program in orthopaedic manual therapy with Evidence in Motion. She is recognized as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. In 2013, she completed her PhD from Nova Southeastern University with her research focusing on the effects specific therapeutic interventions have on the brain as visualized by functional magnetic resonance imaging. Dr. Sparks has authored or co-authored a number of peer reviewed publications in highly indexed rehabilitative journals. She serves as Associate Professor for the School of Physical Therapy at South College.
