What You’ll Learn
In the Certificate in Computed Tomography program at South College, current radiography and nuclear medicine professionals and graduates have the opportunity to learn the entry-level computed tomography (CT) skills. CT imaging is vital for diagnosing and treating patients with a variety of healthcare needs.
This certificate program is designed to promote student learning and skill development to use CT technology to produce the best possible medical images while providing excellent patient care and protecting self and the patient from unnecessary radiation exposure. The curriculum includes CT physics and instrumentation, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care and safety, imaging techniques and procedures specific to CT imaging, and quality control.
The didactic portion of the program is delivered online and the clinical component is be completed by students at facilities affiliated with South College. Students who complete the program are eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Post Primary CT Certification Registry examination.
