Administration & Staff
Tim Noteboom, PT, DPT, PhD serves as the Dean & Program Director in the School of Physical Therapy. He has been involved in physical therapy education for over two decades as teaching faculty, administrator and consultant. He is actively engaged in education technology and blended learning with professional and post-professional students. He completed a year-long fellowship in the Education Leadership Institute through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). In addition, he has been very active in professional advocacy at the state and national level, including serving as president of the Colorado Physical Therapy Association. He is the recipient of multiple awards including Outstanding Orthopaedic Faculty from the APTA Orthopaedic Section and Colorado Physical Therapist of the Year. With over 20 peer-reviewed publications, he is involved in research investigating educational outcomes and whiplash associated disorders. He is a regular speaker at national PT and education technology conferences.
Alex Koszalinski, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, FAAOMPT holds a DPT degree (transitional doctorate) from the University of St. Augustine (2003), a MS in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University (1996), and a BS from Grand Valley State University (1994). In addition, Dr. Koszalinski has recently completed a PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. He completed a fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy in 2007 through Regis University, is board certified in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy since 2005, and a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists since 2007. His prior academic experience includes an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at Walsh University (2002-2007). Dr. Koszalinski has held a number of clinical positions dating back to 1996 to include Regional Manager and Co-Owner of Breakthrough Physical Therapy in Fayetteville, NC. His research interests include manual therapy and trigger point dry needling as well as educational research with effective study methods and curricular design in hybrid education models. Dr. Koszalinski serves as the Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor in the South College DPT program.
Ms. Erika Adams graduated with a Master of Business Administration from South College (2018), a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Kaplan University (2011), and a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Memphis – Lambuth Campus (2001) in Jackson, Tennessee. Erika is also an American Heart Association credentialed Basic Life Support/AED Instructor and possesses almost two decades of experience in higher education. Past employment has included serving as an Instructor, Business Program Director, and eventually Dean of Academic Affairs for an online college in Los Angeles, California. Ms. Adams serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor on a part-time basis with the School of Business and Technology at South College teaching undergraduate business students. However, her full-time role is Director of Operations for the School of Physical Therapy where she began with the inaugural cohort in the summer of 2015.
Ms. Sherry Argo serves the School of Physical Therapy in the role of Clinical Education Administrative Coordinator. Previous employment positions in higher education include the following: Graduate Studies Specialist at the University of Tennessee at Martin and Administrative Assistant to the Academic Dean at West Tennessee Business College in Jackson, Tennessee. She offers a combined experience of 17 years in the higher education field.
Ms. Melissa Aycock received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Delta State University in 2017. She also earned a Bachelor of Technology (BT) from Mississippi University for Women (2013) and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Medical Office Technology from Hinds Community College (2011). Melissa works with the Department of Physical Therapy as the Clinical Education Administrative Coordinator for the January cohort where she assists students and the Clinical Education Team with the “behind the scenes” administrative tasks required for student clinical rotations.
Ms. Gwen Huff joined the School of Physical Therapy as the DPT Admissions Clerk in the summer of 2019. She is a lifelong resident of East Tennessee and has several years of experience with accounting and healthcare. She is a point of contact for applicants and enjoys helping them on their journey.
Mr. Jared Manning graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (Humanities). He brings to South College nearly twenty years of professional skill in serving the public. Having previous experience as a medic, banker, and business owner, Jared conveys a broad scope to his position as Student Records Coordinator for the School of Physical Therapy. As a polymath, he’s always eager to employ his eclectic knowledge base to help the students of South College succeed.
Mrs. Amy Shved has worked for over 20 years in administration. After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hope International University and her Master of Arts in World Missions (Intercultural Studies) from Lincoln Christian University, she spent twenty years working for Team Expansion, an international non-profit organization. Amy served Team Expansion as an administrator overseeing teams in the Ukraine. She also worked as an educator in Crimea and a public speaker in both the United States and Eastern Europe. In 2017, Amy moved with her family to Knoxville, Tennessee, and joined South College as the Student Records Coordinator for the School of Physical Therapy.
Mrs. Sophie Thompson graduated with an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from South College (2017) and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Lincoln Memorial University (2008). Sophie also completed an Emergency Medical Technician certification course. Past employment has included working as an EMT before joining South College as an Admissions Representative in 2015. Mrs. Thompson is currently the Master Admissions Representative for the DPT program where she began this role in early 2019.
