All students must minimally meet the requirements for general admission to South College. General admission to South College does not guarantee admission to the accounting or business programs. Program admission is not granted until the following is met:
The Associate of Science in Accounting requires successful completion of 8 hours in the major curriculum at South College, earning the minimum grades required by the program. For the AS Accounting program, ACC 1000 must be successfully completed.

Learning Outcomes
Through completion of the Associate of Science in Accounting program, students will:
- Analyze and develop financial statements, journals, and ledgers as part of the accounting cycle.
- Independently design a manual and computerized accounting system utilizing all of the steps in the accounting cycle.
- Examine current management practices and compose business correspondence necessary for communication and policy implementation in organizations.
