ADMISSION RATES & CRITERIA

While South College welcomes applications from any potential student, like all accredited colleges and universities, we maintain admittance standards. For general undergraduate admittance, any prospective student must provide proof of high school graduation from an acceptable high school or the equivalent (GED/HiSET) and meet one of these requirements:

Provide evidence of a 2.5 cumulative high school GPA.
Obtain specified score on the college-administered entrance exam.
Submit a minimum SAT combined score of 830. The essay section is not required.
Submit a minimum ACT assessment composite score of 17.
Complete an associate degree or above from an accredited institution with at least a 2.0 GPA.

ACCREDITATION

South College (Main Campus) and the Asheville Learning Site are licensed by the Board of Governors of the University System of North Carolina and have received approval to confer degrees at the Bachelor’s and Associate levels. The college is licensed by the North Carolina Community College System to confer certificates and diplomas. The North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges is not an accrediting agency. The College is approved by the North Carolina State Approving Agency for the training of veterans and other eligible persons.
