Tax preparation courses included in our AS in Accounting with a Concentration in Tax Preparation program help prepare graduates to sit for the IRS Enrolled Agent exams. Passing these exams leads to IRS Enrolled Agent certification, which is the highest credential awarded by the IRS and enables individuals to represent taxpayers before the IRS for audits, appeals, collections, and other tax matters.
After completing the Associate Degree in Accounting requirements, students can also pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting or a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at South College.
The Accounting Associate Degree program is designed to educate students using modern, relevant technology and coursework for accounting majors. Backed by experienced and dedicated faculty, the core Accounting courses cover topics such as the accounting cycle and best practices, principles of management, business law, economics, and financial statement analysis. The Tax Preparation concentration classes are intended to help prepare students to sit for the IRS Enrolled Agent exams.
