The Legal Studies program at South College has many positive and noteworthy features to offer students. Additionally, this field of study is growing in popularity across the country as more jobs continue to be created. Here are some highlights of our Legal Studies program.
South College’s Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies program is approved by the American Bar Association, meaning it demonstrates legal education standards among other elite organizations. It is one of the few ABA-Accredited law programs in the state, and it gives students a tremendous advantage when and if they decide to take the bar exam.
Variety of Study
Our courses are not designed to restrict and limit students to one area of study. Instead, the legal studies program offers a variety of field work including more basic courses like criminal law and tort law, to more advanced courses like constitutional law and bankruptcy law. The courses address a wide range of legal issues, laws, protocols and management tactics to assure students get as much discovery from the program as possible.
In all areas of study, we want students to enhance their skills, improve critical thinking and build confidence in the industry. By setting concrete course objectives such as identifying certain areas of law and authority, understanding litigation and non-litigation legal documents, executing basic rules of legal ethics and demonstrating law office management, our program is able to clear a smooth path for students to accomplish their goals.
The Legal Studies program as a whole aims to help prepare students not only for employment but also for the opportunity to pursue higher education and advanced studies in law.
